Welcome to Creator Economy Investing
If you're interested in investing in YouTube Creators through GigaStar, this guide covers everything you need to know to get started.
What You're Investing In
When you invest through GigaStar, you're purchasing Channel Revenue Tokens (CRTs) - securities that entitle you to receive a share of a Creator's future YouTube revenue.
Important: CRTs are not:
- Ownership in the Creator's channel
- Cryptocurrency or blockchain tokens
- Guaranteed to generate revenue distributions
- Currently liquid (secondary market launching March 2026)
How to Get Started
Step 1: Create an Account
Visit GigaStar Market and create an Investor account. You'll need to provide:
- Personal information
- Contact details
- Investment experience background
- Financial information (to determine investment limits)
Step 2: Verify Your Identity
As a registered funding portal, GigaStar is required to verify your identity. This is a standard KYC (Know Your Customer) process.
Step 3: Browse Offerings
Once verified, you can browse available Creator offerings. Each offering includes:
- Information about the Creator and their channel
- Historical revenue data
- Terms of the CRT
- Risk factors
- Use of funds
Step 4: Research the Offering
Before investing, thoroughly research:
- The Creator's content and audience
- Historical channel performance
- The specific terms of the offering
- All risk factors disclosed
Step 5: Make Your Investment
If you decide to invest:
- Select your investment amount
- Review all terms and disclosures
- Complete your investment
- Receive confirmation
Investment Limits
SEC Regulation Crowdfunding includes investment limits to protect non-accredited investors:
- If your annual income or net worth is less than $124,000: You can invest up to the greater of $2,500 or 5% of the lesser of your annual income or net worth
- If both your annual income and net worth are at least $124,000: You can invest up to 10% of the lesser of your annual income or net worth (maximum $124,000 per year)
These limits apply to your total Reg CF investments across all platforms, not just GigaStar.
What to Expect After Investing
Holding Period
CRTs are typically illiquid. You should expect to hold your investment for the full duration of the revenue-sharing period. A secondary market is planned for March 2026, but there's no guarantee of liquidity.
Revenue Distributions
If the Creator generates YouTube revenue, you'll receive your proportional share according to the CRT terms. Distributions are typically monthly, but check the specific offering for details.
Communication
GigaStar provides updates on your investments, including:
- Revenue distribution statements
- Creator updates
- Platform announcements
Understanding the Risks
Creator Economy investing involves significant risks:
Complete Loss of Investment
You could lose your entire investment if:
- The Creator stops producing content
- The Creator's channel is terminated by YouTube
- YouTube changes its monetization policies
- The Creator's audience significantly declines
No Guaranteed Revenue Distributions
Past channel performance does not guarantee future results. Revenue distributions depend entirely on actual potential future revenue.
Illiquidity
You may not be able to sell your CRTs. Even when the secondary market launches, there's no guarantee of buyers at any particular price.
Platform Dependency
All revenue depends on YouTube continuing to operate and pay Creators as it does today.
Best Practices for Investors
- Diversify: Don't put all your investment capital into a single Creator
- Research: Thoroughly review all offering documents
- Understand your limits: Only invest what you can afford to lose entirely
- Think long-term: These are illiquid investments
- Stay informed: Keep up with Creator Economy trends
